I've never heard of LCD Soundsystem before I saw this video and despite being a pretty good song I was really blown away at the story being told. Why is this important? Story telling is missing in a lot of our photography and videos today. For me, I don't see it a lot. Why? Because I think it's not easy to do. When I do see a great story, whether in a single image or a video, it stops me and makes me think and feel. It's hard to explain but you probably know what I mean. In the music video, oh baby, I feel like I just watched a full blown movie with a beginning and an end and it leaves me wanting more.
Telling a story is easier said than done. I try to apply this in my own work Country Lady, The Prospector, Surfing Santas. Using a little imagination, thinking about your shot a little more, what do you want to portray/project. What is the story you are trying to tell? How do you want people to think/feel about your work? Try to find elements other than just taking a snapshot makes for interesting imagery and you will make people feel and think too.

The venturous duo Callie & Crissy have been around the world together. Congrats to your ultimate adventure together!
With a little direction, Callie & Crissy filmed themselves with their GoPro and sent me the footage along with their personal photos of their adventures together. I then created this engagement video for them. I was really trying to showcase their chemistry and the fun times they both have had, and will have, going forward.
I was down filming and taking photos at the beach with the Sony a6000. There were numerous rainbows out. I saw the Victory Casino Cruise heading out for their nightly voyage going right under a rainbow. Can't get any better than that. Cha-Ching!
Shot with Sony a6000 / Sigma Art Lens 60mm / 50 bit rate / Graded in Adobe Premiere
There is just something about taking photos that I'm addicted to. I don't know if most people will get it, but I just feel good when I'm out creating. This video is finally here. What a cool place to visit and photograph.
"UP" was filmed at the Descanso Gardens in La Canada, California. I filmed 100% on the gopro hero 3 black edition 2.7k 24p cin mode and edited in 1080p24. Hope you like it, enjoy!
Shot this during my lunch hour. Set the gopro camera directly on the ground pointing it at the mid day sun. I'm very surprised at how well this camera handles bright mid day sun. Shot at 1080p60 slapped down in a 720p24 timeline.
The first video was so much fun we decided to shoot another one. Love this little camera
This was a fun shoot. We tried to find as many different ways to mount the GoPro as possible.
